I've held out for so long without getting a smartwatch but finally caved and got a Fossil Gen 6 (mainly to have a fast way to see my calendar for the day and have more accurate sleep tracking and alarms). It's pretty cool but the battery life sucks. If I don't use it during the day and just use the always on display with occasional notifications checking then the battery easily lasts 36 hours, but actively doing things on the watch (eg. messing with settings, scrolling through the store, going through todo lists) drains the battery at ~2% per minute. The latest WearOS update conveniently got rid of battery drain tracking so you can't see what drains it or what the battery drain derivative is but actually using the watch is noticeably bad. I got my girlfriend an Apple Watch SE last year and it seems so much better in every way.

Mine was new off Amazon. I swear the battery measure must be inaccurate, sometimes the battery measure barely changes on super heavy usage days, while other times it freefalls on sedentary days where I barely used it or got notifications

I have a Fossil Gen 5 and I love it, but the last month or so the watch shuts off when the battery is at ~50%... so its been really annoying. But it doesnt drain it like yours (2% a minute is ridiculous). Where did you get yours?

8 consecutive hours of sleep tracking with heart rate monitoring and always on display: <10% battery usage

10 minutes of using todo apps and fiddling with system settings: ~20% battery usage

I guess you ultimately don't do much on the watch itself so I'll probably keep it, but I find myself a little afraid to use my watch for the first 2/3 of the day in fear of having to charge twice-daily
