I'll never understand how exceptions in English make it harder than gendered languages where every gender is random or tonal languages where every word can mean four different things and characters can be a completely different word based on one extra stroke. There are words that are masculine in Spanish and feminine in French or vice versa.

also i find it funny that in Spanish plural nouns default to male gender but in German they default to female unless they don't. i hope this helps<3
