@Akise wow that's a story there.

Surprisingly it did go down at some point in... 2017? 2018? and stayed that way for.... half a year? I don't remember. I originally created it but I had abandoned ship long before that happened even. One of the other admins was planning a reboot and ended up contacting me. He kept giving everyone fake promises and I eventually got tired and decided to put the old site old myself, but it was just for funzies on a free server that obviously wasn't going to be able to go long without being suspended or something. I ended up selling the files to an user in the community and they ended up getting hosted by sudufox, so, surprisingly, socialneko is hosted on the same server as sudomemo/flipnote's fan succesor server.

It went through a fresh start after it got sold out to the new owners, so you need to sign up again haha.

People are still actively using socialneko on a daily basis. As I'm aware, at least 15-ish statuses are posted every day.

kinda thought socialneko would implode with the raw drama it generated on a daily basis

Their layout base is straight up 3DSPaint and their status design was taken from DSiHub's short-lived succesor "3DSHub" (forgot who was involved, but I rememeber rayword)
