I bought a Dualshock 4 controller on Friday. Hands down the best controller to use on PC. The only major downside is that the button prompts don't match the controller, but as long as you know the Xbox layout you're good.

Honestly though, what makes it great is the DS4Windows program. You're able to modify almost everything about the controller.

@Therum Yeah MotioninJoy is a piece of crap. What I like about the Dualshock 4 is that I don't need an external adapter most of the time to use it wireless since it's bluetooth.

I also have the wireless xbox 360 controller adapter, which is nice because anyone with an xbox controller can also sync with it with no need to get stuff. Great for multiplayer games

@Therum I own a 360 controller, but after using the DS4 it's hard to go back. Especially for emulating older games.

@Therum DS4Windows looks like malware? Even then you can just use X360ce (A well known and legitimate program) to use a DS4 as an Xinput device.

If we were talking about DS3Tool for Dualshock 3 controllers then sure, but DS4Windows is nowhere near that.

I prefer xbox controllers because the driver programs don't scare me and look like I am installing mal/spyware
